Brief
At Y'all, the agency I work as a creative developer for, I was tasked with ideating and ultimately building a 3D web game that demonstrates the unique strength of the team as well as our sense of humor. Having played with our mascot, Yallie, as a 3D rigged model and some open source physics engines in threejs, I thought what better challenge than to have our plucky blue yeti storming through a cityscape knocking down buildings all in the browser.
My Role
I saw this project through from initial prototyping all the way until the end, and then once again when we decided to port the game into Augmented Reality using 8th Wall as a holiday christmas card for Y'all's clients. The main challenge of the projects were to optimize the instanced buildings such that constrained devices like a smartphone could hum at a nice 30 frames per second while a browser could show the full mania of work.
